You really don't need a switch, but if you care to install one ynot115 drew up a nice chart here:

The WHITE/YELLOW wire coming from below (ABS) goes to the IN terminal of the TopSpeed and the WHITE/YELLOW wire coming from top (ECU) goes to the OUT terminal of the TopSpeed unit.

Ok figured out the mystery. This unit is one of the pre-built prototypes that made its way around.

Anybody out there that is still trying to run the hand built prototypes, please discard them and get the production units. These were prototypes for testing and are not meant to be installed any more. The hand built prototypes are just that: prototypes. The install descriptions do NOT match!

For everyone else who is interested in these: The final units now on eBay come with install descriptions. There are over 100 out there by now.

PS: Please be upfront if you got your hands on a one off, non production, not for distribution unit. Especially when posting in a public thread, making it look like one of the products does not work.

you get it figured out?? unfortunately u cannot just use a standard switch to open the speed sensor's input signal... you must put in some sort of bypass so that ECU still sees a speed indication regardless of whether or not it's being "filtered" through the TopSpeed unit... hence you need a MINIMUM of 2 poles (2 pole double throw)on the switch...

Wasn't the switch. He got hold of a pre-production unit and the install descriptions will not match. All of the preproduction units should be discarded. The ones on eBay are of much higher quality, not the hand built thingies I threw together. :-)

It seems that the "buy it now" option for the TopSpeed electronic part does not work on Ebay anymore. I've tried it several times and always get an error message.
Is there an afterlife ?
Touch my bike and figure it out.

I forwarded the problem to eBay support. It seems this might be related to eBay-Paypal in Germany.

If you ever have this problem you can send your money directly to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. via Paypal.

Just use the note field to detail out your order.
