I had SATO engine sliders installed (TG) and the bolts bent rearward dampening the blow, so I believe the damage would have been much worse on this cover (hole is on the bottom section).
I also had TREX frame sliders installed which without a doubt saved the scoop, not a scratch even though the frame slider is now bent and worn slightly. Engine and Frame sliders are a must IMO.....can't say enough about them. This was just a small accident in TN last October while making a hasty last second decision to exit the road and turn around....hit the access road too fast abd slid out of the curve (high side) and into a 10 inch high stone curb. this particular damage is just cosmetic....the cover is only there to hold the rubber dampener.....had there been fluids on the inside of that cover (my first thought)....it would have been TOW TRUCK time and vacation over. chit happens... need to pay attention when you're out there ---PeaDawg |

Gotta love the Cherohala Skyway.............I don't think alot of those curves were meant for 80 mph or more.

Darel....I have one that I would give to you but I still have plans to paint my billet covers and I need something to go in their place when I'm getting that done. I do have a set of ne Trex sliders that I never installed. If you are interested in those let me know.

Sorry to hear that Darel
You wouldn't happen to have any after action shots of the TRex sliders would you? I wasn't willing to "test drive" them, but am very curious how they fared. Thanks, Shaun |

I'll look and see if I have any pictures of the T-REX on that day
But you know how the aftermath of a dumb drop goes..... .....you quickly jump up and immediately look around to see if anyone saw it then you push on down and over to the side of the road, as if you meant to stop for a bottle of water.... ...think I pulled out some tie wraps and tools....and as fast as I could got her road worthy.... feeling the ....the VMAX carma is that it took three months for my foot to stop swelling... a lasting reminder - don't hurt your DAWG...it'll hurt you back. Started the season burning my fingers LOVE this VMAX, need to buy her some candy this year (after I finish with the Aux ---PeaDawg |
