Anyone in Colorado have "Tims" reflash done?
I would like to dyno it here at the shop to see the difference. No cost to you ! Let me know |

Let me know IMHO you need to ride a re-flashed bike......dyno will only reveal a small percentage of what is improved. Some of the major changes are in the lower gears...the dyno can't help you see those. Other changes like the balancing of the cylinders also cannot be seen. If you are just interested in maximum peak HP, the flash is not a huge improvement over a a custom map. It does more than that however. |

Does the bike have a different map for every gear??? If not, why would it perform different in the lower gears? If the bike runs best stock in 4th gear, why not just trick the bike into thinking it's always in 4th gear?
Just trying to understand... |

Twisting your wrist only "suggests" a throttle opening to the ECU. The ECU makes the decision on how much to actually open the throttle plates. The re-flash changes the rate of opening in the lower gears, as well as adjusting fuel (which is the only thing that a map will do). Does that clear it up a little....if not ask more questions. |

The stock ecu limits the Fly-by-wire throttle bodies to about 43% in 1st and 2nd (little less in 3rd) Tim optimizes these opening rates as well as fuel and timing curves. Not sure about the % increase but I would dare to say 25% more power in 1st and 2nd, a little less gain in 3rd, only a few ponies on 4th and 5th but again overall a vastly smoother running machine... NO COMPARISON!!
Again, many many changes beyond the throttle bodies as well. There are an AMAZING amount of maps going on in this bike.... |

well, it is clear that everyone is happy with there re-flashes.
The next question is .. Is it usable power. Now that you have a harder hitting 1st 2nd and 3 gear. Is it usable ? Tire spin, wheelie's ???? |

I can light it up anytime with the 240 in 1st gear just by hitting WOT, 2nd gear anytime after about 5k RPM, third spins a little bit, most of the time (Not on the track really in any gear assuming you can ride ok)
So if you don't like excess power then don't do the flash! |
