Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury,
My story is simple, I 'Live to Ride'. I am 30 years old and have not been without 2 (motorized) wheels for more than 6 months since I was 8. I only endured that once thank god because I was going flippen crazy! The MAX was my first (street bike). I met the Beast in 1999 and proceeded to have 9 freaking awesome years with it. I just sold it a couple of months ago to my brother (really I just loaned it) because I bought a Hayabusa a over year ago and couldn't pay for insurance on both. Well, really my wife wouldn't let me... Although I love the thrill I get from riding the Busa, it is just a phase I need to go through and am already missing my MAX. At least I still have visitation rights. I have been watching and waiting for the new MAX since before the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show when Yamaha displayed a V-4 engine in an incubator as a hint of things to come... Finally, on June 4th I was able confirm all I had been waiting for... the new VMAX was here!! I placed my deposit for my new baby 18 hours later, and that wait was just to make sure I had permission from my sweetheart (ya, I hope she reads this). But seriously folks, as much as I would love to win that amazing VMAX watch. I think the creator and master behind all this here at www.starVmax.com our beloved Oliver (aka fxstein) deserves this for all he has done and created for us. He has graciously taken himself and the staff here at starVmax out of the contest for obvious reasons. I would like to use this thread as an entry on behalf of Oliver and a THANK YOU to you and all the staff here at www.starVmax.com for making this site what it is... THE AUTHORITY FOR THE NEW VMAX!!!! Thanks guys! |

Thanks, yes Oliver has worked his behind off for Yamaha, and deserves the invites to press events and the test rides, and such. Me, I have to mind the store and hear how much fun he had..

Thanks for the kind words.
Once I knew the new VMax deserved its own site, it was clear, it could not be done half a**. TONS of time that goes into this, but it does come with some goodies, like media intros, VIP events and a few things here and there. Not that it would come close to what you need to invest to take a site like this off the ground, but fun never the less. This one is for you guys. I hope to see many more start their very own threads and compete for the unique VMAX watch... |

Ppffttt, You are too much B_M. I pray you are totally and completely joking. Oliver created this place from a handful of clay and a dream. He designed it and improved it and got it working smooth. And still now continues to cultivate it to better and better. The more I type the more worked up I get. In fact so much so that I retract any possibility of your doing anything less than totally joking your azz off. Please dont let me know if that is not the case. I assure you this is nothing against you. NO NO NO!!! Its the aspect of "Pro" Oliver that stirs my emotions (STRICTLY hetero I assure you all) lol. You rock F to the X!!!

FX deserves all the perks Yamaha can give him and much more.
He and this website have definitely been a major asset in bring more attention and information about the Vmax to the general public, potential buyers, buyers and enthusiasts. This web site is an absolute pleasure to visit and it's has continued to improve even in the relatively short time I've been here. Excellent job FX! |

The information made available in this web site greatly contributed to my decision to place my order back in July. I am pretty sure I woul dnot have put down that amount of money without hearing from Oliver and all the other knowledgeable people who contribute. Yamaha (er, Star) should definitely support this web site in a significant way, like paying all the operating costs, plus give Oliver and the starvmax.com staff attractive salaries, as well as getting all of the new Yamaha/Star accessories to them for their bikes to review and comment (and sell the rest of us more). Anyone from Yamaha/Star Corporate reading this.......? Mike |
