TOPIC: Why I Got My VMAX?

This is a low end one, they are actually not too expensive used, if you can find one. It's the shipping that kills you, about the same as a bike $400-500.
I bought this on e-bay for $1200, its a 1997, and drove up to Tampa Florida for it. It sat outside for 3 years, and the frame was pretty rusty (surface rust) and I actually just finnised cleaning and putting it back together. Comes apart easily, and I'll paint the fiberglass body when I decide what color bike pulls it. It came without the mounting kit....which cost me $450 (I didn't think it was that much when I bought it). As usual after I bought this, They had a 2003 with 600 miles complete with mounting kit windshield and all the extras go for $1600 but it had to be shipped. Its a Velorex Sidecar...a dealer in Tampa sells them new for about $3000 I think. Chris |

My winter project will be replacing this set-up: is that your idea of a family vehicle?just screwing around but i really cant tell you how i feel about that set up Tried to get a Virago, but the frameless wonder would not work on a sidecar. Guess the Shadow will do......I already have the sidecar set-up for quick connect/disconnect, so in 20 minutes i'm solo again. My kid will get his first ride when he turns 4 next year June:woohoo: Chris |

man :ohno:great video i cant wait. When i bought my magna i was hoping for a v max i wanted a v max because a friend of mine sold his because it scared him thats when i became partial.there was one but it was out of my budget at the time.my 02 magna has been an awesome bike ive got lots of comments and good feedback on it from other guys, they seem to think its something special(it is top(besides v max)in the cruiser class of its day)it always put a smile on my face and surprised me quite well im very pleased.but being me ive always wanted more (thats just how i roll) always wanting better, looking for the upper hand, the edge now that time has come and the resources are here to have one.my words cant describe how i feel about this opportunity to own one of 200 bikes i canada.one of the coolest bikes in the world.i feel connected with every other v max owner everywhere and i feel like im in a different class of rider alltogether.the v-max is an expression of my inner self my personality,i know its crazy to say i dont even have it yet, but i know what im in for i believe what ive seen and i thank god almighty for this experience in my life and where this will bring me.

Hooked it up, but never had it out, just wanted to see where evrything went and how much time it took. I would never have it on the Max, looked for a old cruiser untill I found that Honda Shadow...we'll see how it fits. Chris |

Last Project:
This was my last project, a 2001 Ninja 500R, (don't laugh guys, this bike is a hoot to ride)...bought it from a kid who put 4000 miles on it and laid it down twice (in the parking lot)then upgraded. 50+ HP at 9500 RPM from a twin and under 400 lbs with a short wheelbase...you got a corner carver in the making. Took me about 2 months: jet kit...K & N filter in a modified air box...Kerker slip-ons...1 tooth down in the front & 3 up in the rear...upgraded the Uni-Trak suspension for my weight (215 lbs...yes a bit too many pizzas) stock rear was a 130, was able to stuff a 150 in there with Michelin Pilots H2's (soft and sticky). Top speed with the gearing was only about 100+ mph, but you would get there in a jiffy, I planned to build a canyon carver (even though there are no canyons in florida), but those late night battles through the airport ramps had me in 5 th gear and in my powerband while all the big dogs couldn't get out of 3 rd and had to parctice trottle control to keep up. From a second gear roll-on to about 90 mph had the edge on a couple 1000's (and they were half my weight), but then horsepower took over...goodnight Irene. Put 6000 miles on her (mainly back and forth to work...great city rider) and sold her to a kid in Jan. '07. |

Kudos for the upgrades, that little burner sounds like a hoot to ride, specially with the sprocket upgrades. Keep the rubber side down. Cheers' |
