can ayone suggest a good helmet?? 10 months 3 weeks ago #1

So I have been riding for almost three months now and I noticed that my helmet has this intolerable sound. Sometimes I cannot hear my bike or the sound around me. It is really irritating.

So I have to purchase one as soon as possible. So can anyone suggest me great new helmet that is not like my current helmet? I really don't like the noise and the wind and noise is distracting me. Can anyone help me? Or suggest any good helmet?

Replies would be highly appreciated :)

Aria profile. Aria helmet size the curve of you head for better fit. Always used these.

Your best bet is to go to some bike shops and try/check the dif sizes & makers. Arai is definitely a nice helmet (if your head fits properly). I had the best fit from Icon, Scorpion & Shoei, but found even the Shoei to be noisy. It's a matter of fit & you need to try different ones till you find your comfortable fit. Be sure to check the vent system and where it flows inside the helmet. A helmet is an important decision & most people I know have more than one helmet for dif styles of riding.

I have an old Arai Quantum that I loved...very well balanced and fit very nice.........however it was time to get a new one so I paid over a grand for two Arai Profile helmets for my wife and myself which were fitted at a dealership.

When we got the helmets we both experienced severe ear pain after a short use. Spoke with Arai and we got them squared away with different size ear pads. My wife is very happy with her's. Mine fits very snug.....no more ear pain but what is happening is at "speed" mine tilts up and back so the chin area covers my eyes...not good at "speed". My helmet fits very snug so I can't believe this could even be possible.

Anyone ever have this happen with a helmet?

Well if you want to cut out the noise, schuberth helmets are consistently rated the most quiet helmets on the market.

Go to a dealer and find a helmet that fits correctly. Then buy some ear plugs.

Yep the Arai Vector I just purchased is the quietist I have used to date. Plus it is latest dot approved for racing. My perfectly good but noisier Shark does not pass latest regulations down here.

All really good helmets are light and light means loud. Get ear plugs for the long rides.
