TOPIC: can ayone suggest a good helmet??

Re: can ayone suggest a good helmet?? 10 months 3 weeks ago #11

All great suggestions....fit, comfort, safety, style

I also include functionality on my priority for a helmet.......

...........for me the SHARK Evoline series III is a great choice!

Teh modular function allows me to ride open face at top end speeds or full helmet at the flip of a hand.

Being able to talk (communicate at lights or parking) while wearing a helmet is important

The roll down eye shades make sunshine or night always doable...

Yeah The shark is the most fuctional helmet around I reckon. The drop down eye shades the best feature IMO. They won`t let me use one for the track over here so I had to buy an Aria vector. Much lighter and quiter, but I miss the Shark which I only can use for the road now.

I use a KBC FFR, I like it. especially now that I repainted it to match my bike.
Back in 2009 I did a write up on it for the VMOA's Vboost magazine. Attached below.

I updated the article after I removed my fly screen.

Best way is what was already mentioned......go to a few stores and try different brands on. Find a helmet/size that's comfortable.....buy it there or online. I don't have an "Arai head"....just don't fit me well. Shoei's, OTOH, fit great.....I have a few Multitechs (flip-up) and a few Qwests (full face)....the latter is the best-fitting style I have found....for me....so far. Others may disagree, but IMHO earplugs are a must unless you consider hearing a luxury once you hit old age [ :hmmm: whatever that is] ....if you've never worn them, you can get 'em cheap online from earplugstore.com. Long time ago I bought their foam plug "sampler" [www.earplugstore.com/unfoamtrialp1.html]....found two that fit me best, bought a box of each........way less :money: to do it that way.

I think most of you have an Arai helmet and I found that Arai have positive feedbacks from their customers :jumping:

Also I found this online store that sells affordable Arai helmet and they also have good reviews

www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Helmets

What do you think? They have wide collection of Arai helmets and other brands.

You won`t go wrong with an Arai Alice. As said before "make sure the sales person checks that it fits your head properly" A "little tight snug fit" and it will adjust to your head in a week or so of riding.
