TOPIC: Looking for Duplicolor Blk Eng Paint

Looking for Duplicolor Blk Eng Paint 3 years 10 months ago #1

Has anyone recently seen the cans of Dupli Color 1200 degree, semi-flat black, ceramic engine paint on the shelves near you? The color turns out close to whats on the '09 engine. I found some 500 degree paint, which turns out gloss. If you see some, please feel free to let me know. The 1200 paint is really durable. I repainted my old Max engine with it, which would last about 4 yrs between coats. I don't know if its just not carried around my area for some reason anymore or if the company quit making it. Thanks, Mark

Thats the stuff. Noticed its states its 'gloss'. Its more of a semi gloss compared to the 500 degree. Thanks! ;)

Yeah, the local O'Reillys and Wally World doesn't have it on their shelves. AZ usest to carry it too. Probably a local demand thing. The 1200, like I said, is durable. Am wanting to coat my homemade rack with it. Thanks again. Mark

There is grill paint out there that has a 1200 Deg. It's more of a flat black color..Just don't get gas on it it will melt away..Put a good seal on it..

Mike in Lewisville, TX, aka Cool_the_Engines, used the factory black engine paint to black out some parts on his bike. Use that and you will have an EXACT match, instead of close enough.

I think he ordered it from his local Yamaha/Star dealer.

Looks great.
