Had the recall done Tuesday 05/08/2012 with no issues. Mechanic had already done (4) others so was experienced with the procedure but I was still skeptical to let "anyone" work on my bike, I always do my own mechanics except warranty issues of course. took my bike in on tues morning.dealer had bike till thurs end of day.did the harness at the same time.only rode about 15 mi.seems ok.like many others I prefer to do my own wrenching.	hottubx OFFLINE Senior Max Posts: 127 Thank you received: 21

Well it turns out all that worrying was for naught. I get to the shop and the mechanic has done 5 or 6 of these already. So I, being the trusting soul that I am, start to grill him over the procedure. You know, just to see if he really knows. Well he did. He knew all about the issues others have had and told me how he avoids it. I was very relieved and he did a great job, took about 50 min. Oh ya and he was very impressed with Tim's oil pressure sensor.

Picked up brand new 2011 from dealership. They told me that they did the oil pump recall before I picked her up. 600 miles on odometer now and no issues at all. Only issue I'm having right now is that when I ride the Vmax my face starts to hurt after about 10 minutes from the big grin I can't get rid of... I've tried punching myself and kicking the pavement at stoplights but it doesn't help. Still grinning.
