Install the rear section first. Take the gasket out of the clamp and slide it up on the rear down tubes. Rock it back and forth to enlarge the opening. Put the exhaust compression gasket back on the Brock and loosely install the clamps. Make sure they are pointed the right direction for tightening them once they are up. Assemble the two rear down pipes to their first merge collectors. Try to correct any out of roundness by hand. Make sure to use the silicone. It also helps at a lubricant until it vulcanizes. Slide the rear assembly up on the rear down tubes. Tighten the clamps until it holds itself in place. I also stack some wood blocks under it just in case. Assemble the rear section to the point it is held in place by the right side support bolt. Then slide the front header pipes in being careful not to hit the radiator.

I think thats where I'm at. I only put the front flanges on like the direction (no front pipes) Currently I have the 2 rear down pipes connected to the collecter pipe held by 2 springs. I have the upper part of the flange and the gasket installed on the down exhaust pipe (hanging from the bike). Next I have the brocks (with the stock clamps on them) pushed up on to the pipes (and its being held by on I guess compression. I have the clamps in position (as they were before taking off the bike) to tighten up it once good.
I'm hoping that I will be able to get the clamps to be able to go up over the gasket and upper flange. TIm; are we talking (closely) to what your saying? The lack of space to be able to work that clamp into position is killing me. |

Just to be clear ( I think you have) those clamps need to be on before you slide the Brocks exhaust up onto the stock rear down tubes. The bolts should only be finger tight with the gasket expanded (as mentioned before) and the clamps finger tight, you should be able to slide them up into place as an assembly. Don't do one at a time. Construct the rear section both rear tubes and merge collectors so it is almost ready to accept the front tubes and rear bend for the muffler once it's in place. This always is the quick way for me. If you are worried about the clamps compressig the upper flange onto the gasket, spray a little WD40 on it. Spray some on the screws as well. They are all stainless and it helps prevent thread damage/wear.

Okay I'm heading out to try this again. Was to tired last night to give it a shot. Next question; in the instructions it states to remove the flanges off the pipe and install on the front headers. I see included with the Brocks 2 pices that look like flange shape spacers (only thing I can reference it to).
What are these for and where/When do I put them on? Maybe I'm getting aheard of myself Put where my bike is I'm not close to a computer to ask later. Thanks for your help so far Tim. |

Your bike with the stock pipes and x-pipe was the best sounding stock set up I've heard. But the Brocks/2.0 set up is the shiznit! Just ask Capt. He put it on his bike and he's been the king ever since. FOR NOW!!!!!!!
