TOPIC: Front end lift

Front end lift 2 years, 7 months ago #1

Has anyone yet lifted the front end yet and took the weight off of the forks (other than a wheelie)?

I may need to take the weight off the forks for a turn signal mod plus I usally check the steering head bearings for any play.

I have the K&L jack adapter but it's only a rear wheel lift.

Look at this;

The rod goes into the hole in the bottom of the steering head and there are different adapters to fit the hole I.D. size.

Yep...the shop where I have all of my tires mounted on my 2006 and 2009, have one and at first, I was skeptical too...but Mike showed me and with one hand on the end of the long lever, lifted the whole front end off the deck...

I know it looks like, "what the hell?"...but the fulcrum effect is what does it...

Go to a shop that has one and have them try it on your 2009 first so that you personally see it work...

The other thing...although Mike didn't have the rear lifted when he showed me, I would prefer to have the rear lifted for better stability...although he put the bike into 1st gear first...

Anyone know what size adapters are needed for an 09 Max and also a Gen 1 ?

Take a look at the picture...I measured the Steering Head Bottom Hole I.D. on both the "2006" GEN-1 and "2009" GEN-2, just now...then make your decision...had to put the model years since the hole I.D. may be different on different model years, especially the GEN-1s...

I would still see if you can find a shop that has the MC-20 lifter or a similar one and try it first...so you know you like it...

Last Edit: 2 years, 7 months ago by cvvmax. Reason: Added Model Year Clarification
