Monster Horsepower charts 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Here we go:

Here are the charts I promised from getting the Monster Big Air Kit together with the X-Pipe, TopSpeed & Power Commander to hummmmmmmmm

Almost 197 STD and 192 SAE and there is still more left in this configuration.

Here is what we have left todo:

Custom fuel map each cylinder - the rear ones are running leaner than the front ones. Waiting on a setup to hook up each cylinder by itself. Expect another 1-2 hps

Custom ignition map - looks like several areas of the rpm range could benefit from a slight advance of the ignition. Expect another 1-2 hps

Custom YCCT map - the low end will show increased torque of up to 4 ftlbs with slightly reduced opening angles for the YCCT. Its not always more that you want. Without the smaller diameter longer stacks that restrict the airflow, some torque can be gained by less throttle opening. The best we have seen so far while testing was about 4 ftlbs. No extra top end power but more usable torque down low.

Even without these the numbers are very impressive. Most noticably: The comparison to ynot115's stock VMax. At worst the Monster Big Air together with the X-Pipe produces just the same torque as stock, while improving in some areas and taking off above 6500 rpm with about 20 hps more over stock.

These runs are on the stock tire, with Yamalube 20W50 synthetic, a fresh clutch, EXUP eliminator, TopSpeed, Monster Big Air and X-Pipe with stock mufflers.

I would expect a full Akrapovic Titanium system to gain another few ponnies over the X-Pipe stock muffler combo - but at a steep price.

I forgot: The Monster Run was with K&N Filters on and the Faux tank cover installed, Just like you ride it down the track, not a dyno only open box run.

fxtein,
Those are some mighty figures for a stock engine!
I love that power and torque increase around the 3.3 to the 5.4 k rpm and how it rises from 6.3 up....
Do you think the stack replacement is a key part on achieving those figures? And if so, what kind of K&N individual filters do you use? (unless you still use the filter box and individual filter...).
Pics would be nice (Suction area).
Thanks,

Very nice figures indeed!
What I like very much on those charts is the fluent line of the HP and Tq delivery!
Nice job!

Check out the Monster Big AIr thread. It has pics of the big air kit we have developed. I will start taking pre-orders later this week.

The power comes straight from the Monster Big Air Kit.

We also ran two VMaxes neck to neck in 5th gear with vmaxbrad just north of Phoenix and while I am 40-60 lbs heavier and had all the luggage of the week long Wild Wild West trip on the bike, it was no comparision. 5th gear roll ons starting at 4k rpm I easily pulled away and he said that when I hit those 6750 rpms he felt like standing still.

It took a lot of testing to come up with the perfect setup for those billet stacks. They replace the entire YCCI system and air box.

Im very interested in the Big Air kit how long before its ready to ship , those very are impressive HP #'s , how much HP are you thinking the Vstacks and K&N filters are worth over the stock air box? Reason I ask is , in this thread : (www.starvmax.com/News/V-Max-News/VMax-X-...rts-194.7- rwhps.html)
Unless im wrong you made 194.7 HP with the air box , and now your up to the 196.58 with the big air kit , thats less than 2 HP difference unless Im missing something and Im sure I read something wrong or missed something.
Thanks TB

Yeah, it's near the bottom of the thread where he mentions it's running no air filter

I can't wait to see what the 4-1 will make. I'll probably need the monster air next. For now I just have my modded air box.
