TOPIC: My VMAX - custom mapped!

After toying with the idea of getting my bike custom mapped I finally decided to do after lots of research on where to take it.
The place is about 40 miles from my house, but it had the best service from anyone I spoke with in this industry. The fact that they took time to talk to me and weren't afraid of the fact that somebody else knows about what they do was enough for me. Mapping took about 3-4 hours and it was worth it! I should have done it before, but I was waiting to get all my mods installed before I did it. My Mods: X-pipe Big Air Kit & K&Ns PC V AIS Plugged EX-UP removed Power Shifter Top speed Fix When I took the bike in I was running a map downloaded from this site. This was the FX map for the BigAir kit and an X-type collector that Oliver kindly posted. The power curve was very nice to begin with and I am sure provided some very good starting points for my local tuner. We did the run with Oliver's map and it came in @ 188.35 HP & 119.99 ft torque After the custom mapping to better match the local climate and my individual bike and our local fuel the bike now makes 195.23HP & 124 ft torque Conditions were: 68.26 F & 70.19 F, Humidity: 36%, Scale: Standard and Smoothing set to 5 More importantly the bike feels more dialed in and smooth. And I have a piece of mind that all the mods work well together and that I am getting the best posible performance out of my mods. Suretakes the guess work out of it. Here are my graphs. I'd like to thank all the guys that helped me along the way to get my setup where it is. Oliver for his hard work and great products, our site sponsor Ken from Evoluzione for supplying me with the PC V & Power Shifter and Mike for the X Pipe |

Well m8 your right now all dialed in, it will take some keeping with you now.
Kris forgot to mention that his bike has the HP record for that dino except for a Bussa that was turboed and stroked but actually blew up on the dino but did produce 213 HP before the melt down. |

Awesome! Nothing beats a custom mapped bike. The crispness you get is so worth it.
Definitely seems like the Australian (maybe any outside US bikes) might be mapped slightly different than US models. I'd be happy to host the map in the downloads section if that is ok with you. |

Here in Melbourne, Australia we are pretty much @ sea level by sea side up to maybe couple of dozen feet where I live.
I will send the map to Oliver to upload to the download section of the forum for those that want to try it. Keep in mind no map will be the same for every bike, but it will get you close. I would still recommend you visit your local 'reputable' tuner as a must do mod. Oliver: please PM me your email. |

Regular high octane petrol here in Australia is 98 RON although 91 and 95 are also available. I would assume that Mr Kris would be running 98.
Thanks for doing the hard yards Kris. Can't wait to give it a try on my monster. Hopefully I might get a little bit more out of a tank??!! That would be good. |

That's right. Bike was running high octane 98RON during mapping.
Cleaner burning fuel & a cheap insurance option for such a high power bike. I don't know if my mileage will increase as a result, but I am expecting it too. The bike was really rich in the cruising Rpm range so I am expecting some gain there. But as always with new found power it's hard to resist the twist. |
