TOPIC: We need some good kill stories

We need some good kill stories 1 year, 11 months ago #1

Weather has been poor here in Dallas this winter, and absolutely no excitement to report. Surely, some of you are out there representing. We need some good stories to liven the place up. We're living vicariously through you...so let's hear 'em. (Embellish a little if you have to. )

Mine is waaaay to slow for any kills. The other day a Zuma blew past me.
Mine is no match for a Sportster, I am usually at the end of the pack and have trouble keeping up. I hate speeds over 40 mph and rarely get beyond 3rd gear because of that.

lier ..... lol

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Still my favorite "kill story". LMAO!

I raced a Harley the other day, and after some really hard riding I finally managed to pass the guy. I was riding on one of those really, really, twisting sections of road with no straight sections to speak of and where most of the curves have warning signs that say "15 MPH".

I knew if I was going to pass one of those monsters with those big-cubic-inch motors, it would have to be a place like this where handling and rider skill are more important than horsepower alone.

I saw the guy up ahead as I exited one of the turns and knew I could catch him, but it wouldn't be easy. I concentrated on my braking and cornering. Three corners later, I was on his tail. Catching him was one thing; passing him would prove to be another.

Two corners later, I pulled up next to him as we sailed down the mountain. I think he was shocked to see me next to him, as I nearly got by him before he could recover. Next corner, same thing. I'd manage to pull up next to him as we started to enter the corners but when we came out he'd get on the throttle and out power me. His horsepower was almost too much to overcome, but this only made me more determined than ever.

My only hope was to out brake him. I held off squeezing the lever until the last instant. I kept my nerve while he lost his. In an instant, I was by him. Corner after corner, I could hear the roar of his engine as he struggled to keep up. Three more miles to go before the road straightens out and he would pass me for good.

But now I was in the lead, and he would no longer hold me back. I stretched out my lead and by the time we reached the bottom of the mountain, he was more than a full corner behind. I could no longer see him in my rear-view mirror.

Once the road did straighten out, it seemed like it took miles before he passed me, but it was probably just a few hundred yards. I was no match for that kind of horsepower, but it was done. In the tightest section of road, where bravery and skill count for more than horsepower and deep pockets, I had passed him. Though it was not easy, I had won the race to the bottom of the mountain.

I will always remember that moment. I don't think I've ever pedalled so hard in my life. And some of the credit must go to Cannondale, as well. They really make a great bicycle.

LOL. I've spanked so many V-Rods that my hand still hurts right now, but of course that was on my Gen 1.
I've got half a dozen or so "kill stories" in the short time I've owned my new Max, but I'm not one to brag about destroying BMW's, Ducati's, FJR's, and Rousch Mustangs. Not even close to being a fair fight.
I can tell you though, the sissy FZ1 rider I rolled up next to on the highway didn't even want to make eye contact with me for some reason. Like I wasn't even there. Hard to miss a 680lb cruiser I would think.
Oh well....... starting to snow now.....can't wait for Spring!

Sorry for all the bad weather everywhere, including vegas. The other day it was NOT raining and in the 60,s so I rode out to red rock. There was a few sport bike and a couple of harleys. I don't even ask any harley guys, but the sport bike guys love to race and go fast. This one guy had a very clean, gsx-r1000 with pipe and pc. He said he bike was just over 400 pounds and had dyno at 162rwhp. Adding all that up NOW I really wanted to race. After he looked at my vmax and ask how much did it weight, hp and so on, he was also excited to see the difference. I know no other bike has the low end power as the vmax, so I like to race from 20-25. We did go from 20 to about 140. I jumped out about 3 bikes in 1st, and never looked back! He said he did pull about 1 bike on me but could not get any closer. We also ran from a faster 40 mph and I also did jump out about 2 bikes and never saw him up to 150. He was nice about it and told me he had (HAD) a very fast bike but now he had to have head work done because of me!
The vmax is very fast and it's really something special!
ride safe,
tom
