TOPIC: Dales Holeshot 4-2 Exhaust System Is Now Ready

Re: Dales Holeshot 4-2 Exhaust System Is Now Ready 2 years 2 months ago #81

Well, I finally had some down time today at the shop and got the Exhaust, Big Air Kit & PCV installed. All I can say is WOW!!! What an amazing difference!! The Comp 2 Mufflers are actually a lot deeper (which I like) than I was expecting. When I first looked at them, I was thinking they were going to be on the "tinny" & "raspy" sounding...man I was way off!! They're a nice & deep, with a rich throaty tone. I took it out for the first ride & grabbed a fist full of throttle and.....shiiiiiiiiiiiit, this thing pulls hard!!! Last week I took off the Dunlop E3 rear tire & replaced it with a 210/40-18, Bridgestone G852 Exedra. That tire is way stickier than the Dunlop and now she hooks up hard and the front end lifts real nice in 1st instead of spinning. Gotta say Dale: OUTSTANDING!!! The fit & finish is superb and was a snap to install. It took longer to get the stock crap off than putting on the Holeshot, it slipped into place perfectly! I didn't even loosen the rear pipes on the engine, just front only!. All in all, it only took 5 hours to install the Exhaust, Big Air & PCV. I'll be heading out tomorrow to get a good location to snap some photo's & get some video's taken. More to follow soon....thanks again Dale for the awesome set up!!

Here's some quick photo's of Dale's Holeshot System with the Comp 2 Mufflers. They really sound awesome, nice & deep in the low RPM's & really raw in the high RPM's!! I'll be putting out a video soon!!

Thanks for the report.. Interesting choice for rear tire. I think you're the first to use it. I had a few 210/40 18 Metzlers.. didn't know Bridgestone had one too.. Let us know how well it works for you :)

Hey Dave your bike looks great and I got your e mail today so I thought Id better check in. Monday and Tuesday is real busy for me. Glad it all went well and she runs like it should.

One thing I have to mention here so other know is, you must install my canister body clamps and hanger brackets.

Trying to be tricky eh and super stealth :photo: with those brackets you came up with I see

If you dont the mufflers will be destroyed over time from vibartion and its also not good for the header as well, so please install the rest of the parts per my design

Thank you very much

Dale :)

Im also glad it fit perfect, I tried the first 6 sets on my test bike to be sure they all repeated out of the jig Dave. Glad your a happy camper

As far as sound your 10" comp 2 Bad Boys sound the same as my Comp 1 14 " in my videos other than they will be a bit louder is all.

Now install my clamps and hangers and all will be good :nononono:

Cheers Dale :)

Bad-Max, I've managed to get a half dozen rides on this set up and Bridgestone tire now. I have to admit, this is by far the most sticky tire I've had on the Max. Even with the new mods, I can not get it to break loose by throttle alone...I have to clutch it. The Dunlop E3 was pretty close to the stock Bridgestone in terms of traction, it had maybe a tad more grip but at any time, a quick crack of the throttle and it was spinning. I'll post some photo's of it later on today...Jetman.

I've been running Bridgestone for a while. I have a 200, and I can only imagine what they must be like with a 240, traction wise. I prefer them for coming out of the corners. It allows me to come out of them hotter than the Metzeler’s.

Hammer, the tire I put on the Max isn't a 240...it's a 210/40-18 and it hooks like it's glued to the pavement!! As for longevity, we'll see, I only managed 2500 miles out the stock & the Dunlop E3. Here's some photo's I took today...

Thanks for giving us your Opinion.

I saw you posting about the Tire about a Week ago and started investigating. But it's not available here in Europe (because there's no Bike sold to fit this Tire Size to) and the Bridgestone Technician didn't even know that it's built in 210/40 also.

Are any Twisities involved in your Rides ?? I'd like to know how the Tire handles in the Twisties or if it's the same probematic Handling as the 210 Metzeler seems to be.
