I would be willing to test a European ECU re-flash. Just let me know what you want me to do.

I think I have a taker on the Canadian version. Is yours something different?

Hi Tim

How does the max handle the twisties when the reflash has been done? I ride mostly in some major turns wondering whether the extra power is only suitable for dragging? Or can we apply that power to some twisties??

Cheers

Marko

Although it is different, it is still very controllable. You cannot be as aggressive with opening the throttle in the lower gears, but the throttle's response is very linear to it's input. One thing you will need to get use to will be the injector cut offs, which I eliminated. I did not like having them re-light just before the apex of a curve. The injectors stay on all the time now. I can "electronically tame" the throttle or leave the cut offs in place, but everyone has been very happy with the current setup. Any changes would require extensive testing to prove something else has not been affected.

Tim

I agree, I hate the cut-off's :arghhh:. It makes the bike feel a little unstable as you have to wait a split second for them to kick back in after you get back on the throttle!

Tim,

you have mentioned that your reflash eliminates the injector cutoff and alters some timing, I hav also heard mentioned that the reflash also will remove the speed limiter. Can you go into the other aspects you have "adjusted" with the re-flash?

+1

I'm interested if the re-flash changes the top speed and/or rev limits.

Thanks, Tim!

Tim, I'm not sure about all the variations of the ECU. Mine is a UK bike so full power with immobiliser.

I have catass exhaust speed fix exup eliminator and airbox mod and filter, dyno tuned with a PC-V. With the reflash will my current map be good or do I need to have it remapped again? Thanks for all of your help.

So Tim, not that i'm in the 170+mph zone often, butt does the reflash remove all speed limiters and allow Max to go over 168-70????

I think it would be much more appropiate to use the Origin of the Bike by the ECU-Parts No than the Country ...

cvvmax put this list togehter ... www.starvmax.com/forum/13-technical-vmax...t=10&start=150#80935

Here's the info that I have from past member responses.

ECU Part Numbers;
2S3-8591A-00-00 USA
2S3-8291A-30 Europe - Austria, Czecho, Germany, Hungary,
Italy, Spain, Switzerland
2S3-8591A-30 Australia, UK
2S3-8591A-40 Japan

If that Info is correct, the UK ECU is the same as the australian and not the same as the EU(non France) Model.

Since it's a rather drastic and somewhat dangerous Act fiddling with the Heart of the Bike risking the total Loss of the ECU, the ImmoHArdware and all Keys, a thourough Investigation should be done prior to any reflashing Activity on a Immob. featured ECU.

I for one, wouldn't mind having a reflash done, but i'd sure get a US ECU to get that done and keep my stock ECU fully functinonal. I'd rather juggle around with Wires than with a huge chunk of Money.
