TOPIC: Making the switch

I'd keep your warrior and buy the Max! I have my Vrod for long distances and the Vmax for the rush!! Works perfect for me! You will have the best of both worlds and problem solved! Besides, having to stop at the gas station on the vmax all the time is not a bad thing...you will always get a compliment!

I agree with Jetman, apples and oranges. I loved the torque of the Warrior and had a few mods on my '02 as well but it never came close to the Vmaxes. I never did fell as comfortable on the Warrior as I did on any Vmax but they are both great bikes in their own right. I found that after the purchase of the Gen 2, I rode the Warrior less and less and although it was like an old friend, I had to let it go. I say DO IT! |

Got some bad news yesterday. I had already decided not to purchase the VMax, then I saw Capt Bob's set-up. EXACTLY what I would need for the lomg haul. An extra tank that sits on the back. My juices started flowing for the Max again (NOT LITERALLY!) I decided to contact Tejas Motorsports and tell them about my 07 Midnite Warrior. Gave them the whole story and what was in and on the bike as well as what would come with it at trade-in time. Sent pics and everything. The sales guy said he loved the bike and would take it in as trade - no problem. BUT (there's always a "BUT") BUT, he could only take it in if I were trading for a new VMax because the 09 VMax in question is not their bike but is on consignment. No trade-ins on consignment items. I told him that I'm not willing to drop $20+K on a new VMax. That's the end of THIS particular chapter.
BUT (there's always a "BUT") But, I'm not going to stop looking for the right deal. The way I see it, I already have a great bike but would truly love to own the BEST bike. So, I'll wait and look and wait and study until the right deal comes along. Then I'll be on it like white on rice. I'm VERY thankful for the positive and honest input that all of you have given and look forward to eventually becoming a VMax brother in the future! |

Don't trade in your bike, Sell it on your own ! You'll get all the money that way. There are lots of good deals on 2009's and far from 20K ! Keep Looking, You Won't regret it ! Mark |

Too bad it did not work out. There are sure to be better deals elsewhere.

07,
I don't know if this will help, but it helped me out, when buying a new toy. I've always called other dealers, when buying my jetskis. The dealer that will give you the best deal, will probally be the one, that is the farthest away from you. At times, I would get a little upset, when a local dealer, that I have bought a few skis from, would not give me a good deal. I was too torpid,"late", when you had to order the 09. When it was time to order the 2010Max, none of my dealers would give me any slack, so I ordered it from a new dealer. $ 17,773.00, with 4yr YES warranty, V-max cover. It does pay to shop around. Also, if you do buy the MAX, even when you do run out of gas, you will still have another 10 miles or so to coast down the road. Max is my very first bike, been a water rat my entire life, have ran out of gas plenty of times on lakes/rivers, yes it did get me a little ticked off, but when I do run out of gas on MAX, I know, I won't get mad,you can't, your jaw is still wide open from the power of this bike. I have only seen the "light", come on once, I smiled and said, "AWESOME"!!! TAKE CARE |

07,
When I was looking for my vmax I too called on that one in Tejas but I thought they wanted too much! There is on here in Albuquerque , NM if you're interested. I know they will take less than that one in tejas. . If interested let me know I can get the number. Mg1 |

Hi 07, be patient, shop around and luck will come your way one day! It's bad business to take rash decisions, so look around and make the deal of a lifetime!!!! |
