TOPIC: never ridden a vmax \"yet\" what's it like?

never ridden a vmax \"yet\" what's it like? 5 years 6 months ago #1

I'm 33 yrs old and have been riding for nearly 20 yrs, and sadly to say I've never owned or ridden a vmax, althogh I have always wanted to. Especially this new look '09. I've got to have it if it looks anything like the prototype.

It's like nothing else out there. It pulses to the beat of a different drummer and the only way to find out, is to ride one. Then again, the new Max will be completely different in every aspect except for it's heart beat. This will be a bike for those that above all else, need acceleration. Power is what made the original a legend and power is what the new bike will have. Better stock up on plenty of clean underwear if you're seriously considering the possibility. Let us know what you've been riding up to now.

Welcome to the site!

Glad you joined! Many of us are waiting for the new one. It's gonna be sweet - especially with Yamaha redoing the suspension. It will be a killer bike. :woohoo:

Make a testrun at the dealer's, but beware! Before you know you'll want one so bad, you'll buy it and they're not cheap! B)

I've owned several different bikes in the last 20 yrs and as of last December I went and bought what is supposed to be the fastest and most powerful cruiser out on the market right now. It is 1800cc (109ci) stock runs 127hp 0-60mph in 3.7 sec and in my opinion it is definitely the fastest and most powerful bike I have ever been on, and although I have only owned a handful or so, I have ridden countless. It is the 2007 Suzuki M109R. Of course being the power and speed freak that I am, when I heard about the Vmax coming out in '09 with the possible 210hp, I freaked. I have always wanted the vmax, but with this new look, even more. My M109R cost about the same or maybe just a little more than the Vmax.

Your Sous is an awesome machine, by the looks of it and its specs are way off the charts. But the fullpower version of the Vmax has a Vboost. If you've never experienced this little gadget, you'll never know what the Vmax is all about.
I would like to try the Triumph Rocket III for a change. It's got unbelievable torque, I'm told...

Very nice 109 you got there. I have been a Warrior guys myself for the past couple of years and built two radical custom ones. If you have not seen check out my personal blog at www.fxstein.com
There are plenty of pictures of the Turbo Warrior up there. I run it at 170 rwhps for 'daily' riding but its good for 224rwhps on C16 race gas at 25psi of boost. :woohoo:

That sounds like a fast bike Oliver.
I live in the Gulf.. Qatar to be exact.
The roads are full of Lambos, Porshes, Vettes, evos etc. mostly driven by 18 YO kids.. a lot of them also ride Gixers

If you want to stay alive on the road you need to be able to move..

I had a 93 Vmax which I loved but I let it go a year ago. I replaced it with a Buell Lightning which is fun. It is nice to be able to ride harder into corners and it has the V twin growl but I miss that raw power that even my 14 year old Vmax had.

I was going to just go buy a new Vmax. But they are not selling anymore. When I found out that a new design is coming with more power etc. Damn, what can I say, it is the best news in months. Starting to save right now..

On a lighter note there is nothing as fun as blowing off a Lambo at the lights..

Nice!

I have been in your neck of the woods. Been to Dubai twice. Fun place. LOTS of fast cars... :woohoo:

Had to fix your address to make your neighborhood map come up in your profile - hope you don't mind. Just put the Box into the loaction field as Google and Yahoo can't geocode them as part of the address information. That's the first map of the Gulf here on the forum!
