Re: New rider , from sportbike to Vmax. 1 year 1 month ago #61

Tim,
congrats on being contaminated with the sickness! I'm a little late to the thread but wanted to welcome you to the best forum on the net...all about the baddest bike on the planet. I guess you already figured this out by yourself and I'm not going to tell you anything you haven't been told by a whole bunch of other forum members...but you will NOT ever want to go back. The people that don't get it...won't ever get it. It's about TORQUE. What other bike can you power off the apex sliding slideways and simultaneously launch the front wheel, straighten her up, snatch another gear and lighter her up and loft the front wheel again? :punk:

How much power is enough? Too much will do just fine.... :steam:

Thank you very much drew for these words , you just said it all it is all about TORQUE , I mean I shifted from sportbikes to this beast for a reason , to put fear in those who underestimate the Vmax and to smoke thim whenever I can , and just as you said once you go with the Max there is no going back . Peace

I just read through this thread. I've never owned a VMAX but I think I have a pretty good idea what I am getting. But after reading the posts from you veteran VMAX owners anticipation for my new VMAX would be a complete understandment. As far as I am concerned there are three things that are my top priorities for a motorcycle I would own: Performance, reputation, and a unique style. And from what I have read here its very clear my new VMAX will be a superlative icon of all these.

Here in Salt Lake most our clubs and biker festivities are 99% cruiser type bikes and of those 90% HDs. I absolutely cannot wait to ride into the center and proudly park my Vmax for all to see.

These posts easily assured me me that this is the motorcycle built for me.

Thank you all! :)

Which is why I'm keeping my dressed VFR-1200 whether I get the Max or not. The Viffer is just incomperably SEXY...and a great ride. I guess with the Max I'd have Beauty and The Beast.

Hi Tim, I've had my Max for 3 years and in this time it as never failed to impress me with its sheer power and very good handling for such a heavy bike. Most weekends I'm out with friends who are mostly riding sports bikes,I have a ball with them in the twisties.. heres a short clip from an eight hour ride, I'm hanging back cos the R1 which as 177 bhp at the rear wheel was kicking up gravel all over me..

Cool video! It looks Isle of Man footage if you take the cars out.

I'm impressed at how you could run those guy down after they passed the car and you stayed back. You are really moving.

It was hard to make out the signs painted on the road at that speed....did they say SLOW? :rotflmao:
