Hello from sunny Southend on sea (ENGLAND) i have had quite a few gen1 maxes and built myself a nice custom max back in 2004,when the gen2 was unveiled and given a release date of 2008 i decided to break my custom bike and sell the parts to raise the cash to buy the gen2,,,unfortunately after selling off all my parts Yamaha decided not to release it untill 2009............being bikeless with a big wad of cash in my pocket made me restless so since then i have had to satisfy myself with 2 Rocket 3's,3 GSX1400's,KTM Superduke and a Ducati Diavel which i just recently sold to get the Gen2.It is a 2009 bike,it only had 302 miles on it when i got it,after a 148 mile ride home the speedo now reads 450,i am waiting on a call from the local Yam dealer to get it booked in to do the recall work before putting some more miles on it.

Congrats on your UPGRADE to the new Vmax! Slightly quicker than the Diavel with a LOT more character!

Yeah i bought the Diavel last November,it was a toss up between the ducati and the Vmax,i couldn't find a used Vmax for sensible money so i opted to buy the Diavel,it wasn't really my cup of tea so i sold it last month and bought another GSX1400 to keep me occupied, last week i decided to search again for a Gen2 and found one for not a lot of money so i bought it on sunday.

Congrats on your purchase!
I think you will settle down now after your case of restless bike syndrome. Being a multiple Gen 1 owner myself....who waited...and waited...and WAITED for the Gen 2, I can relate. What you've got now will satisfy that yearning! |
