They talk about evolution. Here's mine: 2008 BMW K1200S. Rightfully nice bike but met with a yawn by everyone else. 2009 Kawasaki ZX14. Very nice. And then the icon: a 2011 Suzuki Hayabusa. Next a 2012 Aprilia RSV4. Selling it. Incredible track bike but not for me.
But overall I'm getting a bit too old for the enshrouded crotch rockets. I want a cruiser that will be a bit more local club/cruise friendly but will still uphold my mandatory higher performance requirements So today I put down a deposit on a 2012 VMAX. I admired the VMAX in the 80s. Owning one will be a huge fulfillment for me! The thought already has me grinning in anticipation. So I'm Chase. I live in the Salt Lake city area. I am buying my VMAX from a dealer in Denver as not one Utah Yamaha dealer has one or even an inside track on getting one. I'm debating whether to ship it home or to fly one way and ride it back through the beautiful Colorado corridor. Either way can't believe I'm going to be a VMAX owner! |

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.
Fly out to pick it up and ride it back home to the stable, if you have the time to do it. Plus you'll put some break-in miles on it. With the 500 plus miles between the two cities you would only have to stop for fuel 7 times. Doug |

You made the right choice! Welcome, I bought mine for some of the reasons you mentioned above, I love it more each time I ride it.

Yes I will definitely need to chart my gasoline stops.
Guys thank you. I just read through another welcome thread from a sport bike owner like me. If my own excitement for being a new VMAX owner wasn't enough, there are some very happy VMAX owners on here. I can't believe how amazing this bike sounds. My new MAX should arrive at the dealer within 2 weeks according to the regional Yamaha distributor. All I can say is this is going to be a much longer wait now. |

The two weeks will give you time to research thru the forum and learn all about the beast. My wait was from September to February before I could bring the bike home than another two months before I could ride it lol.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is absolutely amazing! As I said I live in the Salt Lake City area. I am a big fan of both car and motorcycle performance icons. I have NEVER seen a Vmax in the wild here in our region. I'm going to be one top dog when I am cruising our streets |
