The Vmax is shaft drive and limited to the stock gearing. Top speed is around 170 with the governor removed. The Yamaha Race ECU does remove the governor but that's about all it does. Tim's reflash has been fine tuned to do a few things. It eliminates launch bog, adjusts butterfly openings, has some timing tweaks, removes limiter and a few other things (like mapping each cylinder for best air to fuel ratio). It has been a work in progress for more than 2 years now, so it's the most bang for the buck. Yamaha has honored all the warranty claims I've seen, including my snapped driveshaft OK. Much appreciated. |
