I'm not sure how true this is, but I just got off the phone with a STAR representative and he told me that the delivery delay is due to a quality assurance issue with one of the parts. He said the bikes are ready once they clear this issue up. He also said that the bikes will be delivered starting in late Nov. or early Dec. and will keep coming for about two weeks straight. In other words, he stated that there will be hundreds of bikes delivered to dealers each day for about two weeks straight until all the orders are completed. This means that all the bike should be delivered by the end of the year, according to this STAR rep....!

Again, I'm not sure how true this is because I seem to get a new story every time I call, but this would be great news if it is true! He also mentioned that there were a couple of distribution centers located throughout the country and one was in Wisconsin. I can't remember where the other ones were located because I was so excited to know that my new Max could potentially be here by the end of the year! Now that would be one hell of a Christmas present to myself!

I hope this is all true guys...what do you think?

Sweetness! I hope this comes to pass! Now I have to sell my wife's Rebel 250 for the down payment much quicker than I thought I'd have to!

Tell me about it! The little 48cc motor isn't really visible in the pic, but hauls me or my 270lb son around @ 30mph. He got a DUI and this is HIS vmax for the next year! lol

I"m just like everyone else, just don't know whats going on. I too talked in person today to our Yamaha/Star rep and he said he had not heard anything why the hold up in shipments. He said he had one on order scheduled for April 09. He said it could be a supplier problem or a marketing strategy by Yamaha. Someone else in another post asked if Yamaha would do the $1000.00 deposit on other models in the future. I asked that question also and he said the deposit deal was a huge success. He gave the example of when the FJR's were not being stocked by dealers as Yamaha wanted them too and sales were slow, so they went to the deposit deal with them and sales went up quite a bit. And he also said that no future orders were now being accepted on the VMax. Looks like to me with dealers talking to the rep's that one of them would really know whats going on.

I did not see the little engine....ok...Question, where is the gas tank.......or do you fart in a tube to make it go...Back to the first question; How many miles do you get to the cheese burger? Somehow I think Jr. will be asking to swap rides from time to time.........Once you go Max....don't look back!

If it's true that All bikes will be delivered in Dec.
Hundreds of bikes a week till all are delivered to the dealers.


Thats HUGE news.

I would rather get mine in Dec. than Feb. for sure.
