TOPIC: I had to get one...

I had to get one... 3 years, 2 months ago #1

Hi all,

I've been debating what bike to get next, this is my 5th and just had to order a Vmax.

I'm told there are hundreds not yet spoken for out of the batch of 2500 but don't know how true this is.

I ordered my Vmax yesterday and was told it won't be that long of a wait whatever that means.

Anyway I can't wait!

Considering orders stopped Oct 31st. I'd say you're a luck guy, or your dealer had 1 coming and is selling that 1 to you. Whatever the circumstance, congrats & welcome to the site

My dealer ordered some for the floor. I suspect he's not alone.

Congrats, man!

I've been asking around and gauging what might be going on with the dealers.

Here's what I think is happening. I think Yamaha originally planned to sell the bike on only pre order. But they had to change their strategy when sales expectation wasn't going according to plan.

Dealers probably circumvented policy by ordering some on false pretenses. But Yami is not going to make a big deal of it, they need to sell and avoid an MT- 01 scenario.

I'm supposed to get more details on Monday.

A few dealers have said there are 300-400 that never sold.

There is NO false pretenses going on. NOWHERE does/did it EVER say dealers could not get them to have on the floor.
