Chris here from Florida, I like this site because of all the interaction, and joined of course because of the free raffle for the new '09 Max;)
My last couple bikes were cafe racers or crotch rockets, but when my son was born, I decided to tame it down a bit and play it safe and buy a cruiser. Since I had always admired the mythology of the V-Max, I went out and bought a '85 that had been in storage (aka hadn't run) for over 3 years. I think I am now in more trouble than I was with the crotch rockets...I am now not looking for a big sweeper to drag my knees on, but a long enough straightaway to light up my shift light at least 4 times to see how fast I can hit triple digits.
Have my max for over a year, and forever working to improve upon it...I spend more time in my garage with it than on the road (having a 2 1/2 year old doesn't help), through a lot of trial and error, and info from a lot of sites like these, I have made it into what it is today.
Always open to recieve or give tech info.
