Hey Ernie, I was with 101st stateside, the 173rd in Nam 8/66 8/67, went back again in 68, with the 82nd Airborne to Nam again.
You are probably pretty close to my age? (I'll be 62 this year).

It good to know there are still a few of us still kicking around.

I have a home in Ill and one in S/W Mich, where we have been spending most of our time, much better riding here, much less traffic in Mich vs. Chicago area.

What town and state are you in.

Congratulations & welcome from a Snake Eatin' Master Blaster who also refuses to get old @ almost 63. You will definitely enjoy enjoy the 'blast of air' like you did going out the door (or ramp)of a C-119, 123, 130, or 141, etc. Only difference now is that it will last much longer.......a damned good thing @ our age.
ALL THE WAY....AIRBORNE!!!
HOOOAAH!!!

Hey Ernie, sorry asked your age I re-read your reply and saw you put your age on it.

About 9 years ago there was a guy in the motorcycle shop in Il. He was 78 years old and traded in his VMax in he said it was too fast for his age, he had full time VBoost switch on the bike. He bought a new bike, I forgot what kind he bought, however he came back two weeks later and said he wanted his VMax back this new bike was too slow, and he actually purchased his old VMax back again.

I thought that how I want to be when I am 78.

MASTER BLASTER, HOORAH,

You know Einstien said that C119 boxcar wasn't suppose to fly. It crude's in the air
(fly's a little sideways) and sometimes does not want to get up in the air I remember the pilot reving the engines like hell, and then all of a sudden hitting the breakes. We were at the end of the runway no more room to get lift, and then turn around and start the other way and finally getting off of the ground.

Hey I didn't know there were so many Paratroop's with VMaxes.

If any of you guys are ever this way, I sure would like to meet up, and talk about old times, everyone else around hear don't know much about what we have been through, being retired gives me time to reflect about the old days, no one else understands what we went through.

God Bless, Drive Safe.

Same thing applies here. I retired from the Army in '90 and live in the Raleigh, NC area. Enjoy the hell out of all 3 of my Vmaxes ('09 plus 2 each '85s).
