Hey B_M,

I don't have a problem with constructive criticism but the critic should have some credentials.

When TB21 produces a set of pipes with his "superior" ability and TIG welding skills then I believe he will have the right to attack Mike or at least compare....

Here's a sneak peek at the "50 caliber" tubes I'm planning to run with the X-pipe. Basically a heat shield with straight pipe through and optional baffles. That ought to get all the gun haters going.

Hey Reddirt , Im sorry that my opinion ruffled your feathers , that was not my intention , I simlpy answered the original question of this thread (what exhaust mod will you go with) I said what Im going with and put my reason. If you'll read back you'll see that I said Blueta obviously has some fabbing skills , I simply stated for MY taste I'd prefer it be all tigged and I don't like the way the rear tube enter. I don't recall saying I have "superior" ability and TIG welding skills, nor did I claim to have any credentials ,and I wasnt aware that Blueta posted any of his credentials? As for tig or mig who gives a shit as long as it doesnt leak , its my $$ my bike I care. It could have a 5 gallon bucket for a gas tank , guess it doenst matter as long as doesnt leak .Its called personal prefference ,
Take care , and again I apologize for offending you. TB

TB, no offense--sometimes I sound like my feathers are ruffled when I'm just talking out my ass. I'm just defending Mike because I admire his efforts as an individual to bring us something we want.

My point on TIG/MIG is that you really can't see the welds after installation and since there is no real stress I doubt if either will fail. The rear tubes are not as long as I would like either but time will tell if that makes a real difference. Obviously we want more power (and more power) but I want the sound more than that.

Personal preference is a good thing. We are going to have so many good variations on this new Vmax soon!!:P

Thanks for the post.

what a #$#@ do we need to be all sensitive and PC around here?

come on...so what if we say something that is not quite pleasantly written... all we need to do is to read and assume that the writer probably had a shitty day at work and at home, survived another day of shitty weather and is using the forum to vent... its ok!

that is called the benefit of the doubt ... we should extend that to our fellow v-maxers... god knows how much BS we all have to put up in a working day... shouldn't have to worry about this here in the forum too...

just look at B_M and turbomark (i think that is his name anyway)... man they sure know how to run their mouth :-P

lets all chill and go for a ride ... :silly:

Nothing against the UFO pipes, I just want to keep the stock look, but do plan on the X pipes, UFO Max Tuner, Limiter
Fix, Air box mod with the new filter and NOS.
Don't really need any of the above, but like the fella said "I just want it".

Going a different route now since Jon does not sell the Max Tuner by itself, going with X pipes,Dynojet power commander V (PC5)USB (when availalble), limiter mod, air box and filter mod and NOS.
I think that will just about do it for me.

amaurycdsf , what a #$#@ do we need to be all sensitive and PC around here? Im confused as to whom your refering to and what you a calling who (#$#@) . Am I taking something wrong?

Reddirt , no worrys , I talk out my ass plenty.
You really don't need to defend Mike from me , I honestly am not slandering his work , just simply stating it doesnt fit my taste , but if there wasnt no other options or I wasnt able to fab my own I wouldnt hesitate to buy his , what he has accomplished is far more than most could take some mandrel bends and a welder and put together , hes also caused the vendors to step up and offer competition , which is nothing but a positive for us Max owners.
The Tig v's MIG thing goes back to my racing roots I come from which was open wheel racing , there we didnt allow a mig gun in the shop. And you are right the mig will hold fine on the exhaust systems , my main problem is the appearance ( I know Im being picky). My concern with the rear primarys is not so much the length its the way it enters the front primarys . The exhaust Im building I,ve figured away to make all 4 primarys close to equal length (which is not as important as most claim) and it will use the stock primarys , making the swap easier than a full system.
