Hi Beast owners!! I have owned my 1991 VMAX for 10 yrs and I was planning to invest in the new beast but in UK the dealers are qouting us £16,000 which is alot of money. But you guys in the USA can pick up the beast for $18,000 (£9,200) over 6 grand difference if this is the case then hey i'm only a fair weather rider and will keep my pounds in my pocket (unless I win the lottery)te he!!!

I know we live in Rip off Britain, but £16,000 for the new Max, no way.
I've read the thing will be electronically restricted to 136 mph, enough to complete the standing quarter.
Already the press over here are calling it "Wimpy",(Soft) by (Motor Cycle News 11/06/08), that's 11th June for our American friends.
If this restriction is true it will be a serious mistake by Yamaha.

Welcome guys. Too bad for that pricing in UK. I still hope that's not the final word and many here are waiting anxiously for July 1st when the official pricing goes out.

As for 'Whimpy' - We shall see. MCN has been a bit too much speculating lately.
