Hello one and all. PeaDawg here in Cheyenne, Wyoming
I purchased a 2010 V-MAX; sight unseen, on Saturday when the Yamaha Dealer said he could have me on one by 5pm. F-A-S-T from the start. 300 miles of shake down and I am extremely satisfied with the new Dawg. I know I'll be looking for advice on what to add on. First, some form of storage....at a minimum a place to keep my leather jacket. (In Wyoming the Dawg must layer up & down, throughout the day.) Also, I see some interesting blog's about performance add-ons on here (mostly exhaust & command modules), so I am sure I'll be asking you all for advice there, as well. Finally, security systems are not readily available for the '010. Anyone know of any local (Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado) vendors where I could shop by look & touch? or is the internet my best option? ----PeaDawg |

Thanks. Yes, within 2 hours of owning my DAWG I ran across the CARDIAC KID in Cheyenne on his demon of an -09. It is typically very difficult to find HWY+ cruise ready folks. Yes the V-MAX community is very interesting. The following day we cruised a couple hundred miles on a short jaunt into the Rockies (with off & on rain - which made it that much greater)thru Fort Collins and back up to Laramie. I'd have to decribe the comparison of the Vee to my Valkyrie as Flying Fortress to an F-16. What a difference. It handles much better than I expected, surprisingly stable while still nimble and lean. This V-MAX and me are well suited and though I was this close " " to buying the ROCKET III ROADSTER, I am fortunate that a parts guy in Loveland introduced me to the MAX. It turned my head on the new GEN 2 specs and combined with the MAX reputation I've always known.....there was no turning back.

Very tempting...Sturgis is just up the road from Cheyenne....I'm sure that loding would have to be a ways out (this late in the game) and even a round trip is not undable. I've even done the KeyHole Lake on the ground thing during Sturgis before....I'll seriously think about it. First hand look at various mods is just what the doctor ordered.
