Hi Steve and welcome. That sucks about the insurance. My insurance company didn't make any stipulations other than bend over. :(

I'm curious about your top speed. Did you mod the ECU? Did Yamaha raise the speed limiter to 150mph?

I haven't used any ECU or any mod to the engine......everything is stock.....so right out of the box I can go 150 MPH....I might be able to push it a little faster....but I think in 5th gear my rev limits at 5 or 6,000 RPM.....I have heard of the Race ECU, but it's like $7 - 800.....that's too pricey for me.....and I have heard of a cheaper ECU...or some kind of chip that removed the rev limit...and I hear it's only 60 bucks.....I might look into getting that.....might be able to hit close to 170 MPH then.

I could only get about 233kph out of her tail wind, down hill etc. your right! there is a top speed governor eliminator for 60$ or so, i just installed mine last night and it works like a dream, that with the big air kit, power commander , auto tuner, V&H exhaust, and clutch mod this thing frickin moves like nothing I've ever been on. the difference between this and the stock bike is night and day, I'm sure other members can confirm that whatever mods you do! It's money well spent.

With all that.....what is your top speed?

I'm not sure as of yet but I've heard some guys are getting close to 170ish mph with similar mods. the stock bike might do 170ish as well with the top speed eliminator, but with the mods your going to get there a hell of a lot quicker!

SO it sounds like Yamaha has raised the speed limitator to 150mph on the 2010's.

FX's fix for speed, will take you to 170ish mph... (limited only by gearing not power) ;)
