TOPIC: Top mount oil pressure gauge

Top mount oil pressure gauge 3 months, 1 week ago #1

I just installed this oil pressure gauge from Cycle One Off, it is a handle bar mounted gauge for the Gen 1 but with a little modification made it bolt to the side of the tach. Cycle One Off is now making a top mount oil pressure gauge specically for the Gen 2 witch should be available with in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the compliments, Tom from Cycle One off is sending me a the new prototype top mount for the Gen 2 to try and tell him what I think. I will post pics of the Gen 2 Specific top mount when I get it and have it installed! I think I am still going to use the one I fabbed because it sits lower then the one Tom is sending me but I will not know for sure until I try the prototype and see how much higher it will be.

What is the purpose of this Guage? Is it required for normal riding? Sorry for dumb questions.

After the hole issue with the oil pump recall and a couple of members loosing there engine because the new pump was installed failed due to improper installation at the dealer and ended up running with no oil pressure I wanted some insurance that it would not happen to my MAX. No it is not needed but if you were to loose the oil pressure on your bike without a guage or Tim Nash`s nifty oil light mod you would never know untilo it was too late.
