New VMax concept drawings surface

Yamaha Star Vmax Otadama Concept Drawing

As the release date of the All New Yamaha Star VMax is getting closer new concept drawings about technical details have surfaced from patent applications, submitted by Yamaha. The drawings describe some of the technical details surrounding the all new Otodama engine and its exhaust system.

The underbelly exhaust system is new and integrates catalytic converter and most of the sound muffling into a central under carriage cannister. The plans spec out the exhaust routing from the Otodama engine. And there is more.

{mosgoogle right}Really intersting are the details about the all new Otodama engine, still believed to be 1800cc. The variable valve timing (VVT) as well as details about the DOHC and head design are layed out in great detail.

The plans show dual butterflies for the down draft throttle boddies, no real surprise, as the engine and intake should be tuned for very high levels of power, requiring the smarts of an onboard ECU to control how quick the throttle opens all the way.

Loaded & transported it straight on using ancra folding ramp-worked great! Back tire was right in the middle of the tailgate. Would not hesitate to put in the back in the future-sorry no pic of it in the truck.

Got about 40 miles in today on the VMax. It was a great ride. Except for a quick ride last Wednesday I haven't ridden since November. I hope winter is over cause I'm ready to ride full time.

Thanks for the link. Like BlackMax said that is very similar to the stand that I tried to use. The one that I borrowed looks like it could lift a tank - very solidly built, but the pin that snapped looks like a cast piece that seems like it is on the weak side. I didn't use a rear stand but I don't think that would help, it would only transfer more weight to the front. The pin was in nice and square I checked it as I started to lift.

I'm sorry, I meant the Vance and Hines CSONE-the 4:1 sound great-not too excited about the naked look on the left.
