TOPIC: Time to get on the road again

Time to get on the road again 2 years 5 months ago #1

We had a brief though severe winter, that lasted the past two weeks. Temperatures below 17 degrees zero.
No time to ride the bike, so sad.

With the 1700 in the storage, waiting till al the salt on the roads is gone, I prepared the "old" VMax for a ride tomorrow or for Sunday.
Cleaned the bike this afternoon and I hardly can't wait till tomorrow morning :)

Tejo, can't join you as you know. So ride the Vmax for us today!

John installed the new ASV levers a few weeks ago, but afterwards he thought he'd used the wrong lubricant. Finally got hold of the right stuff. So, very early this morning he went to make good on his mistake.

In the mechanical part is a small round pin with a hole in it. But you need 3 hands to install the lever without dropping this part. In short, he dropped it.

Spend 2 hours looking for it. The battery of the flashlight was dead. He had to wait til the supermarket opened to get new batteries for the flash. And finally he found his part between the stones of the parking.

Than he dropped it a second time. After an hour he asked me to help him find it. Another hour of searching went by. No bus. Than we decided to moved both Vmaxes out of the parking for a better look. And finally, finally, he found his missing part.

With my 'good' hand to play the part of 'third' hand the lever got properly installed again.

Pfff, modding your Vmax is a time consuming activity!

As Tejo stated, we had a 3 weeks period of severe frost.
Last week it started to thaw tremendously.

Due to condensation both Vmaxes were very moist all over, the tires, the wheels, pipes, etc.

So John spent his afternoon drying them out and giving BOTH BIKES a good coat of wax!

WHAT A GUY, HUH!! THANKS, HUBBY!!

Sadly, I had to skip the first ride last weekend because of a lot of heavy, but short hail storms.
Last night 4 degrees frost.
This morning, I saw trucks spreading again salt on the streets.

Have to wait another week before it's gone. It's a pity.
