I can't believe Yamaha didn't even acknowledge the 2010 as the 25th anniversary model. (they did with the 20th year 2005 model).
The 2005 and 2010 are also close in red color, where the '85 was burgundy.
So...the 2015 should at least be some shade of red!!
I'd like to see a 25th anniversary edition emblem made for the 2010.
(This is the 2005 badge).

I would love to see Yamaha go "All Out" or should I say "Maxed Out" with a special last year run of all the goodies they can throw into it. I'm talking Beast Mode Engine, 4 Mode (1 programmable),....30K, collector's edition, Track (almost) edition.

What ever they do, just to notify us first as premium buyers.

I call dibbs on any engines they decided not to use in the Vmax (going out of business, everything must go!) lol :lol2:

I want the Otodama 1900 Engine, or at least the cam setup, with 6 ECU settings, Exhaust cut out to bypass the cat but thru the cans, and MAYBE some kind of traction control :) Come on Yamaha, make a statement with a 30th Anniversary Special.. I dare ya ;)

I agree. If they do anything. (Which they really should).
Is to up the HP and a full electronics package.
They have the electrics all available, so that is not much development costs.
To put another engine is is big Dollars and won`t happen.(Unless they are going to continue)
They can "tweak" a bit more out of the current engine. God knows there more there.
Compression, Cams and a few other changes.

It would be interesting to know how many Gen 2 have been sold and where around the planet?

The original Vmax took down all other bikes on the drag strip when it was introduced, and held the fastest 1/4mile times until the Ninja ZX-11D (ram air model) came out, according to Cycle World back in the day.
So, holding to the original Vmax, at least make the 2015 Anniversary model fast enough to take down all other mass production bikes on the 1/4mile, when tested by Cycle World and other mags.
So, I'd say the Otodama motor would have to go in to get the power level up.

TnVmax, I would agree with you and everyone else, but reality is Yamaha won't, why, because they ain't no money in it for them, to make us a small few happy.
It is sad though that as it stands right now the new vmax is as good as it will get.
PCWRacing won't even return my emails and I don't think anyone else is doing anything to increase power or I could be wrong. Sad so Sad.
A Beast Lives and Dies in only 6 yrs.If I was going to discontinue a Bike with the history and Respect and Reputation that this the Vmax has I would at least let it go down as the baddest bike on the planet its last yr. At least give it the respect it deserves. Just my 2cts.

PCW is working on a gen 2 engine, has had one in house for awhile now doing
R&D on it. So far they've made the bore to 1800cc and up'd the compression 1 point
to 12. Last I heard they were looking at the cams but said do to how they were
mounted to the gears that there was no way to remount them and have them in the
right position and the money it would take to do all this would be insane so it
didn't sound like they were to hip on pursuing that. Which sucks cause the cams
is the main thing that needs changed on this. Head work still nothing on that.

Yamaha should make a special edition that adds 2 more gallons of gas for range. :hmmm:
Or scrap that & make a lighter 1900 that runs a 8.7 in the quarter. :woohoo:
